Credit protection plan is a non-profit participating life insurance plan designed to protect borrowers and lenders from outstanding loan obligations. This insurance product is offered to Banks, MFIs, Cooperatives, Finance Companies or any other institution in conjunction with some form of consumer credit. The purpose of credit insurance is to offer the borrower and lender protection against defaulting on the loan. If the consumer can’t pay back the institution because of one of several specific events, then the institution contacts the Sun Nepal Life who in turn will make payments to the institution.
